Use an IP from home while you live abroad

When you move abroad, many services from home start to behave differently: banking asks for extra checks, video catalogues change and calls stutter. A country IP on a private line gives your devices a home address again.

Why home services change abroad

Many websites and apps look at the country of your IP. Online banking may add checks or limit features for logins from abroad. Public service portals may only open for local addresses. Video platforms show the catalogue of the country you appear to be in. Games connect you to the nearest server, which may not be the one your friends play on.

A country IP solves this by giving your device an address in your home country. To the service, you look like a local user again.

How a private line helps

Distance is the other half of the problem. A connection from one continent to another normally travels over busy public routes, which causes buffering and delayed calls at peak hours. ProxyWorld country plans send your traffic over a private international line to the country, so the route stays steady.

On the Asia Pacific line, latency is 35~50 ms, quick enough for voice and video calls, HD video on Premium and smooth 3D online games. On the Global line to the Americas, Europe and Oceania, latency depends on how far you are from the country you pick.

Which plan fits your country

Country IP Lite and Country IP Premium cover 11 Asia Pacific countries: Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and India. Country IP Global covers 13 countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Poland, Sweden, Australia, Brazil and Mexico.

Within Asia Pacific, choose Lite for banking, messaging, browsing, clear calls and SD video, or Premium when you want HD video and smooth online games. Global includes HD video and clear calls.

  • Country IP Lite: $6.71 per device a month, minimum 5 devices.
  • Country IP Premium: $13.42 per device a month, minimum 3 devices.
  • Country IP Global: $8.95 per device a month, minimum 4 devices.

Split tunnel: home apps and local apps together

Living abroad means you need both worlds. Your bank and video apps should see a home address, but maps, ride apps and local shops should see where you really are. Split tunnel makes that possible: you choose the apps that use the country IP, and all other apps use your local connection.

A typical setup on a phone puts banking, messaging and video apps from home in the tunnel and leaves the browser, maps and local delivery apps outside it. On a laptop, you might add one browser to the tunnel for home sites and keep another for local sites.

How many devices and how long

Count every device that needs the home IP: phones, tablets, laptops and a TV box for video. Each one is a unit. Since a country IP is something people use every day, longer periods are common: 90 days saves 5%, 180 days saves 10% and 360 days saves 25%.

  • Country IP Lite for 5 devices for 30 days: 5 x $6.71 = $33.55.
  • Country IP Premium for 3 devices for 180 days: 3 x $13.42 x 6 months, minus 10% = $217.40.
  • Country IP Global for 4 devices for 360 days: 4 x $8.95 x 12 months, minus 25% = $322.20.

Setting it up

Create an account in the browser to receive your access token, then choose the country plan, the country, the number of devices and the period, and pay with crypto at the checkout page. The service appears in My services with a service login code.

Install the app on each device (Windows, Android, iOS or macOS), sign in with the code and connect. Open split tunnel to pick the apps that use the home IP. Then open /en/my-ip in a browser that uses the tunnel to confirm the country.

Tips for a smooth experience

After you connect for the first time, sign out of home services and sign in again, or clear their cookies, so they pick up the new location. Keep the app set to start with the device, so banking and video apps never open without the home IP.

For video on a TV, run the app on the TV box or on a laptop connected to the TV. For calls, both voice and video stay clearer when the app is connected before the call starts.

When a static IP fits better

A country plan is built for everyday life abroad on a steady private route. If you also need one fixed, dedicated address, for example to register on an allowlist at work or to keep a business account on one IP, add a Static IP in the same country. Static IP starts at $4.02 per IP a month and can be placed in any of our 24 countries.

Fair use applies to every plan: country IPs are for personal use and everyday work, with no bulk email, no bulk account creation, no attacks and nothing illegal.

Questions

1. Will my bank work with a country IP?

Many banks check the country of your login, and a home country IP shows them a local address. Sign in again after connecting so the bank sees the new location.

2. Can I watch HD video from home?

Yes, on Country IP Premium for Asia Pacific countries and on Country IP Global for the Americas, Europe and Oceania. Country IP Lite plays video in SD.

3. What latency should I expect?

The Asia Pacific line runs at 35~50 ms. On the Global line, latency depends on the distance between you and the country.

4. Can my family use the same plan?

Yes. Each unit is one device, so a 5 device order on Lite covers five phones, tablets or laptops across the household.
