Frequently asked questions

1. What is a Secure IP?

It is a dedicated static IP with a cloud firewall in front of it. Your traffic passes through the firewall before it reaches the internet or your device, and higher plans add intrusion prevention, a web filter and network antivirus.

2. What does each level include?

Firewall includes the firewall only. Guard adds intrusion prevention. Shield adds a web filter on top of Guard. Complete adds network antivirus on top of Shield.

3. How much does it cost?

At 10 Mbps: Firewall $8.50, Guard $10.74, Shield $12.98 and Complete $15.22 per IP a month. At 50 Mbps: Firewall $34.02, Guard $38.49, Shield $42.97 and Complete $51.92 per IP a month.

4. What is the minimum order?

Every purchase is at least $30. That is 4 IPs on Firewall 10, 3 on Guard 10 or Shield 10, 2 on Complete 10 and 1 on any 50 Mbps plan.

5. Which speed should I choose?

10 Mbps covers browsing, email, office tools and calls for one device. 50 Mbps is better for large downloads, video and devices that move a lot of data.

6. How do I connect?

Install the WireGuard based app on Windows, Android, iOS or macOS, enter the service login code from My services and connect. Your device then uses the protected static IP.

7. Is the IP dedicated to me?

Yes. The static IP is yours for the whole period, so you can allow it on your own systems and partners can recognise it.

8. Can I use a Secure IP in any country?

Secure IP plans can be placed in any of our 24 countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and Oceania.

What Secure IP is

Secure IP combines two things: a dedicated static IP and a cloud firewall. When your device connects through the ProxyWorld app, its traffic passes through the firewall first. Unwanted connections are stopped in the cloud, before they reach your laptop or phone.

It is a simple way to give a small team, a remote worker or a travelling laptop the kind of protection an office network has, without buying or managing hardware. The static IP also means your company tools and partners can allow one known address.

Secure IP comes in four protection levels and two speeds, eight plans in all, from $8.50 per IP a month. Like every ProxyWorld plan it is priced per unit for 30 days, paid from account credit, and cheaper on longer periods: 5% off for 90 days, 10% off for 180 days and 25% off for 360 days.

How the cloud firewall works

When you connect, the WireGuard based app opens an encrypted tunnel from your device to our network. Your traffic leaves the tunnel at the firewall, is checked there, and then goes out to the internet from your static IP. Replies come back the same way. Anything the firewall does not allow is dropped in the cloud and never reaches your device.

Because the protection sits in the cloud, it moves with you. The same rules apply at home, at the office and on a hotel network, and there is nothing to install apart from the app. One subscription covers one IP, so each device that needs protection gets its own unit.

The static IP is dedicated to you for the whole period. That makes the address predictable for allowlists, and it means the reputation of the IP depends only on your own use.

Four protection levels

Every Secure IP plan includes the firewall. The levels then add one layer each, so you can pay for exactly what you need.

Intrusion prevention watches traffic for known attack patterns and stops them. The web filter blocks risky and unwanted website categories. Network antivirus scans traffic for malware before files reach the device.

  • Firewall: cloud firewall.
  • Guard: firewall and intrusion prevention.
  • Shield: firewall, intrusion prevention and web filter.
  • Complete: firewall, intrusion prevention, web filter and network antivirus.

All eight plans compared

Each level comes at 10 Mbps or 50 Mbps. Prices are per IP for 30 days.

  • Firewall 10: $8.50 per IP a month, minimum 4 IPs.
  • Guard 10: $10.74 per IP a month, minimum 3 IPs.
  • Shield 10: $12.98 per IP a month, minimum 3 IPs.
  • Complete 10: $15.22 per IP a month, minimum 2 IPs.
  • Firewall 50: $34.02 per IP a month, minimum 1 IP.
  • Guard 50: $38.49 per IP a month, minimum 1 IP.
  • Shield 50: $42.97 per IP a month, minimum 1 IP.
  • Complete 50: $51.92 per IP a month, minimum 1 IP.

Choosing a level and a speed

Start from what the devices do. A laptop that browses, sends email and joins calls is well served at 10 Mbps. A device that moves large files, streams video or runs updates for others is better at 50 Mbps.

Then decide on protection. Firewall is enough when you mainly need a protected static address for allowlists. Guard is the popular middle ground, adding intrusion prevention. Shield suits teams who want risky websites filtered, and Complete adds antivirus scanning for devices that download files from many sources.

Many teams mix levels. A finance laptop might sit on Complete 10, a designer who moves large files on Guard 50, and a shared front desk computer on Shield 10. Each plan is a separate purchase, so you can match each device to the level that fits it.

Worked price examples

Your total is the price per IP, times the number of IPs, times the months, minus the period discount, rounded down to the cent.

Two patterns stand out. A small team on a 10 Mbps plan for a full year pays about three quarters of the monthly price, and a single 50 Mbps IP already reaches the $30 minimum on its own, so one device can have the fastest plan without buying extras.

  • Firewall 10 for 4 IPs for 30 days: 4 x $8.50 = $34.00.
  • Guard 10 for 3 IPs for 30 days: 3 x $10.74 = $32.22.
  • Guard 10 for 3 IPs for 360 days: 3 x $10.74 x 12 months, minus 25% = $289.98.
  • Complete 10 for 2 IPs for 90 days: 2 x $15.22 x 3 months, minus 5% = $86.75.
  • Shield 10 for 5 IPs for 180 days: 5 x $12.98 x 6 months, minus 10% = $350.46.
  • Firewall 50 for 1 IP for 360 days: $34.02 x 12 months, minus 25% = $306.18.

Setting up Secure IP

Create your account in the browser to receive your access token, add credit with crypto at the checkout page, and choose a level, speed, country, quantity and period. The service appears in My services with its login code.

Install the WireGuard based app on Windows, Android, iOS or macOS, enter the code and connect. Check the result on our free My IP page at /en/my-ip: it should show your new static IP and the country you picked.

Add the same login code on every device covered by the order. Once connected, you can register the IP on your servers, databases and partner portals, and from then on only traffic from your protected address is let in.

Who uses Secure IP

Small offices use it to give every laptop the same protected address, whether staff work at a desk or at home. Developers and administrators allow the Secure IP on servers, databases and admin panels, so only connections from the protected address get in.

Travellers use it on public networks in hotels, airports and cafes, where the firewall and filters add a layer between their device and the shared network. Families use Shield and Complete to filter risky websites on shared devices.

Freelancers who handle client systems use Secure IP so that a client can allow one address for them and nobody else. Shops with a few point of sale computers use it to keep a single protected address for their store dashboards and partner portals.

Good to know and related products

The firewall, intrusion prevention, web filter and antivirus all run in the cloud, so they add no load to your device and need no updates from you. The levels are fixed per plan: to move a device to a higher level, buy that plan for it.

Secure IP protects traffic that passes through the app connection. Keep your device's own system updates and passwords in good order as well; the cloud layers work best alongside them.

Fair use applies to every plan: no bulk email, no bulk account creation, no attacks, no fraud and nothing illegal.

If you need a dedicated address without the firewall, Static IP starts at $4.02 per IP a month. Cloud PCs give you a full Windows computer in a data center with its own IP, which suits work that should keep running when your laptop is off.
