ProxyWorld

Set up the ProxyWorld app on Windows

This guide takes you from a new order to a working connection on a Windows PC: install the app, sign in with your service login code, connect, change IP, start automatically and solve the most common issues.

Which plans use the Windows app

The ProxyWorld app connects a whole device to your plan. It is used by the app-based plans: Rotate Lite, Rotate Max, ISP Rotate Lite and ISP Rotate Pro on the rotating side; Static IP and Premium ISP Static IP on the static side; Country IP Lite, Premium and Global; and all eight Secure IP plans. Static, country and secure plans connect over WireGuard, a modern tunnel protocol that is fast to start and light on the battery.

Proxy plans (Rotating Proxy Pool, Static Proxy and 1 Gbps Static Proxy) do not need the app; they are added to a browser or tool instead, which is covered in the proxy setup guide. Cloud PCs are reached by Remote Desktop and have their own guide.

Before you start

You need an active service. Create your account in the browser to receive your access token, then choose a plan with the quantity and period you want and pay for it with crypto at the checkout page. When the order is complete, the service appears in My services.

Open the service in My services. You will see its service login code. Keep this page open; you will copy the code into the app in a moment. Each device you connect uses one unit of the quantity you bought, so a 5 device order can sign in on five computers and phones at once.

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11 on the PC.
  • An active app-based plan in My services.
  • The service login code shown on that service.
  • Permission to install software on the PC.

Step 1: install the app

Download the Windows app from the download link shown with your service in My services. Run the installer and follow the prompts. Windows may ask for permission to install a network adapter; allow it, because the app uses that adapter to carry your traffic through the tunnel.

When installation finishes, the app opens on the sign in screen. You will also find it in the Start menu and, once running, as an icon in the system tray near the clock.

Step 2: sign in with the service login code

Copy the service login code from My services and paste it into the app. The code links the app to that specific service, so the app knows which plan, country and pool to use. If you have several services, each one has its own code; sign in with the code of the service you want on this PC.

The code is private to your account. Treat it like a password: anyone with the code could use one of your device slots. If you share a plan with a colleague, give them the code through a private channel.

Step 3: connect and check your IP

Press Connect. After a few seconds the app shows that you are connected and displays the IP your traffic now uses. To confirm from the outside, open our free My IP page at /en/my-ip in any browser. It should show the new address and, for static, country and secure plans, the country you picked.

If the page still shows your own address, close the browser fully and open it again, since some browsers reuse connections that were opened before the tunnel came up.

Step 4: change your IP

On rotating plans, press Change IP to move to another address in your pool. Rotate Max allows unlimited IP changes across 1,320 IPs in 210 subnets; Rotate Lite moves within 440 IPs in 55 subnets; the ISP plans use 220 or 440 ISP addresses. Each change takes a few seconds while the app reconnects.

On the Static IP plan, Change IP gives you a different dedicated address with one click. The new IP is again yours alone. On Premium ISP Static IP you can add a label to each IP in the app, which helps when you run many addresses and need to remember which one is registered on which service.

Step 5: start with Windows

If the PC should always use your plan, turn on the option to start the app with Windows and connect automatically. After a restart the app opens in the tray and reconnects without you pressing anything. This is useful on office PCs and on cloud PCs that run tasks all day.

You can still disconnect at any time from the tray icon, for example when you want a local download to use your own connection.

Troubleshooting

Most issues have a quick fix. Work through this list in order; it covers nearly every case we see.

  • The code is not accepted: copy it again from My services and check that the service is still active and its period has not ended.
  • All device slots are in use: disconnect the app on a device you no longer use, or buy more units of the plan.
  • Connected but no internet: disconnect, wait a few seconds and connect again; if it repeats, restart the PC so the network adapter reloads.
  • Another VPN or security app is running: turn it off, since two tunnels on one PC can block each other.
  • The IP looks unchanged in the browser: close every browser window and open My IP again.
  • A site still shows your old region: clear that site's cookies, since it may remember your earlier visit.

Questions

1. Do I need a separate code for each PC?

No. One service login code works on as many devices as the quantity you bought. A 5 device order can be signed in on five PCs and phones at the same time.

2. Can I use the app on a cloud PC?

Yes. A ProxyWorld cloud PC runs Windows 10 Pro, so you install the app inside it like on any Windows machine. The cloud PC then uses your rotating, static or secure plan.

3. How do I know the app is working?

The app shows your current IP while connected. Open /en/my-ip in a browser to see the same address and its country from the outside.

4. What happens when my period ends?

The service stops at the end of the period you bought. Buy the plan again to keep using it; a longer period of 90, 180 or 360 days saves 5%, 10% or 25%.
